Mid-2006 marked the release of the Canon EOS 350D into the market. A part of the EOS series, the EOS 350D model had been the successor to the EOS 300D and the predecessor of EOS 400D, also known as Digital Rebel XTi. Canon EOS 350D reviewed can also be seen as a major improvement to its predecessor with many features made available which were then locked from the preceding model. A little over a year of its introduction, production of the 350D was pulled to a stop, and the remaining stocks are sold at a fraction of their original price. This is not unusual as the market is easily saturated with new and more advanced models of digital cameras.

The changes made as compared to the 300D model can be clearly seen in being Canon EOS 350D reviewed for the outstanding features that it possesses despite the seemingly short production lifespan that it had. The quality even became better with its 8.0 megapixel resolution using the CMOS technology exclusively by Canon. This digital single lens reflex camera offers the best in image processing with its powerful DIGIC II giving you effective and superior images. Another update is the improvement in the continuous shooting speed, which was 2.5 frames per second in the earlier model and became three frames per second with 350D. Aside from these, the geeks at Canon also added nine all-new custom functions for you to explore and play with. These are the customizable SET button, Flash sync speed in Av mode, control noise reduction, selectable 0.3 or 0.5 EV exposure steps, shutter button / AE button, Flash shutter curtain sync (1st or 2nd), AF-assist beam control, mirror lock-up, and E-TTL II mode. Still mulling over slow image uploads on the previous model? The 350D camera has a unique USB 2.0 interface which ensures fast and easy uploads anywhere, anytime. Once you have connected the device to any PictBridge compatible printer, you simply click the “Direct Print” icon and you’re good to go.

When you read or see Canon EOS 350D reviewed, you can’t help but feel a twinge of regret in knowing that such a fine quality camera is out of production. Nevertheless, it is still a pleasure to any photography buff to revisit and revive the amazing features of the 350D; after all, it is one of those models which set the bar to many of today’s digital cameras.
